We are committed to protecting the privacy of guests and travelers to Philly Black Pride events and festivals. This policy outlines how we will protect and use personal information collected through our website, event marketing, or other interactions with Philly Black Pride organizers.

We define personal information as information linked to a specific individual (e.g., name, address, phone number, e-mail address, or any other information provided by members or website users).

How do we use the information gathered when you sign up for the Philly Black Pride Events email or attend a Philly Black Pride event?

When you register for our newsletter on phillyblackpride.org, we gather contact information when you participate in an event during a Philly Black Pride or contact a volunteer. We use this information to send Philly Black Pride events, festivals and LGBTQ-related action alerts, event invitations, updates, and press releases as well as information about programmatic accomplishments and initiatives, volunteers and event opportunities,

We collect information from our supporters, volunteers, and donors, including information from the Internet and through oral, written, or electronic communications. Philly Black Black Pride ensures that information about donations and event admissions will be handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

We collect and maintain donor information that is voluntarily provided to us, such as: 1) name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address; 2) information on events attended, publications received and special requests for information related to Philly Black Pride or its programs; and 3) information provided in the form of comments and suggestions. Payment information is used only for donation or payment processing and is not retained for other purposes.  

We use this information to provide our donors, volunteers, and supporters with better service and with information about Philly Black Pride’s events. All Philly Black Pride event donors are entitled to information about our mission, how the organization intends to use donated resources, and its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.

Our events are open to the public so we do not ask individuals under 18 for any information and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information about them.

We also gather aggregate information about website usage. Our web server, Google and Squarespace, automatically records each visitor's domain name and Internet Protocol (IP) address. We collect and analyze this information, which helps us determine which pages are most frequently visited to improve the site and its resources for our visitors. Philly Black Pride does not track individual usage of our website.

Our Organizers
 from time to time we might establish a business relationship with other persons or entities whom we believe trustworthy and whom we have asked to confirm that their privacy policies are consistent with ours. These are known as our Select Partners. In such cases we might rent, exchange, share and/or cross-reference information, including contact information about you that will enable such persons or entities to contact you regarding services and events that may interest you.

How is your information protected on phillyblackpride.org?

We hold your personal information to the highest level of confidence and security. Our website is securely protected against the loss, theft, misuse or misrepresentation of the information under our control. Access to our database information is limited only to specifically qualified Philly Black Pride volunteers. Additionally, when you sign up for our newsletters online, your information is transmitted using a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser encrypt or scramble data before sending it to our payment processor.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can ever be 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information to the fullest extent, we cannot guarantee its security.

To remove your name from our email, please email info@phillyblackpride.org indicating what type of communication you received from us and at what address.
